Glasgow Prestwick is Scotland's fastest growing airport in terms of percentage growth. The airport is home to Ryanair, which provides low cost links to some of Europes major cities, and is home to their new 737 maintenance base. The airport is Scotlands most important cargo centre, with a number of 747s passing through the airport every day, making it the only airport in Scotland to receive regular Jumbo Jet service. A number of charter airlines also use the airport during the summer months, providing links to the mediterranian and other important holiday destinations. Although the airport is located 32 miles awy from Glasgow city centre, Prestwick is the only airport in Scotland to have a rail link.
