My Vinyl collection has been stored away for the day when some nutter offers me more money than I can refuse for them.
Recent MP3's to join their cousins in iTunes were:
Breakaway - Kelly Clarkson
Back to Bedlam - James Blunt (actually had it for 5 months but still most listened to)
Hot Fuss - The Killers
Tourist - Athlete

Pikal: Athlete are pretty amazing at the moment, i havent downloaded the full album just the current singles. The Killers first song was good but the second one not up to the same standards.
Kelly klarksons song is great, havent heard any others off the album though.
Ill add in James Blunt "Your beautiful" and Daniel powter "Bad Day", which are the best songs out at the moment, although Bodyrockers is still sounding great

sentimental maybe.
dragged my record player out earlier. Listened to vinyl cuts of
Johnny Cash Live at Folsom Prison (the best live album ever, by anyone, some old
Desmond Dekker stuff, and asserting my nationality through some
Luke Kelly sessions. Proper soul food.
pikal -Cpl. Jim Blunt's album ain't too shabby. maybe
nighthawk will explain why he has the tagline on his MSN at the moment

You need to give the killers a second chance I had to listen a few times.
Kelly Clarkson - Whole album similar to the song you have heard
You'll need to get the JB album not a bad song on it, I also like DP so am 'looking' for the album.

Coldplay's album is pretty good, we were listening to it at work a few weeks back.
Pikal: im not knocking the killers...heir current song is ok, but not as ood as the previous.
Im not really a fan of albums, I tend to just download the songs ive head.
As for my tagline on MSN, it reflects the current situation in my life perfectly. (and no, it aint directed towards you

A misc directory containg odd songs by Daniel Bedingfield, Texas, Razorlight, Kaiser Chiefs, Lost Prophets, Eurythmics, Duran Duran, Beatles, The Who, Megadeth, Roxette, Starskey, Overkill, Madness, Brides Of Destruction & Aerosmith.
I am not really a single person so generally just have whole albums on my MP3 player and my laptop. My wife likes having just a huge mush of individual songs and so likes her iPod Shuffle as it suits her listening style. We both have a fairly eclectic taste that favours a harder edge.

Most of the stuff is fairly upbeat if titled a little bit darkly if you know what I mean. Nothing as depressing as the Black/Load/Re-Load era of Metallica !
I mix it around fairly often and have most of my 6000+ CD albums converted to mp3 and it covers a very wide and wierd range, fairly wide range yourself there Mr Kirk with definate rock/metal leanings.

you are showing your ignorance big man, give it a try, you won't be disappointed. Incidentally, there's a Johnny Cash biopic coming out in November with the Whack Phoenix in the main role; trailer
here; to say I am excited is putting it mildly. It is one of my greatest regrets that I never saw him play live.
I've got about 8000 tracks ripped (~30Gb) with about another 500 CDs to go  Never bothered with an MP3 player as I prefer to listen to the radio or watch a movie when travelling. Will dig out a few playlists later, but I can recommend
The Dangermen Sessions Vol 1 by Madness - been listening to that this afternoon.

No doubting Mr Cash's influence as one of America's musical "Highway Men" but he never really did anything for me. A good song writer and he could carry a tune though I think the best of his later (1964+ stuff) was co-written with his wife who was a bit of an American musical idol herself.
I wil still stick with Maiden and AC/DC in their earlier years as two of the best live performances I have ever seen.
Got tickets for Juliette and Licks on the 26th August and Garbage tickets at the Usher Hall which I am looking forward to. My biggest regret was never seeing Queen live.

So,

Does the panel have any PROPER recommendations for me to
download spend my Tax Credits on? Despite myself I quite liked Bryan Ferry's massacre of Bob Dylan's greatest hits (that might count as genocide).
