I see on alt.edin Callum was enquiring about the increased tax on flights from Feb 07 on easyJet.

I booked flights with them at the end of Nov and another on 26th Dec, for travel after the Feb deadline. I have since received a email at the beginning of January to pay for the increase tax on the November booking, extra £5 each, which I did online but no email has arrived for the Dec 26th booking.

After looking at my flight details on their site it does not say I owe them any more for the fare so it appears that the second booking has charged the full tax.

Wondering about this myself as I saw on TV news last night that Easyjet were going to e-mail pax for the extra tax. I made a booking in their January seat sale on 5th January for a NCL-STN return flight for 13th March. I noticed they added tax of £10 each way where in the past they used to only add £5 tax each way. However for booking a flight to take place later in January and before the new tax comes into force, their website today also appears to be now adding £10 taxes and charges, which leaves me wondering whether the £10 charge each way which I have already paid covers the increased tax levy or whether Ezy had already changed their policy to add £10 instead of £5 for taxes before the new tax levy was announced (many other airlines already add more than £10 per flight for taxes and charges), in which case they might yet e-mail me to pay more on top of what I have already paid, or ask for it at the airport on the day of departure.

Well I wasn't asked for any extra tax, neither by e-mail nor at the airport, for flying NCL-STN return yesterday. But I did notice when I made a further booking with Easyjet a few days ago that they have now further increased the tax and charges element for new bookings to £16 per one way flight.
