A head chef at an Edinburgh restaurant has won a place in the Scottish finals of a prestigious UK-wide culinary competition.

Graham Kirk, who is head chef at Est Est Est on George Street, was commended for his recipe in a regional judging heat and will now compete in the Scottish final of the Roux Scholarship competition - where he will be cooking in front of a panel of famous chefs including TV stars Heston Blumenthal, Gary Rhodes and Brian Turner.
