Right, in true TWA fashion, its time for an election poll. Who will our members be voting for this time around?

Votes are anonymous, leave a comment stating who you will be voting for if you wish!
GKirk
Just went and voted.
Gav no doubt you'd have voted tories in the local council seat down here considering it's your brother in law running for them icon_wink.gif
Anyway, SNP all the way icon_mrgreen.gif
Callum Johnstone
Of course in the local elections you have the option to 'ticket split' and vote for a range of parties, not just one ... icon_smile.gif

Plus you can vote for a different party on the List to the party you vote for in the constituency vote.

Needless to say I've already cast my vote(s), was at the polling station at 0715 this morning!

Indeed thats what I done icon_smile.gif

Alex Salmond for first minister, and my first 2 local votes went to guys from my area. A labour councillor and a Lib Dem councillor.

I can't participate in the poll as I voted for representatives of 3 parties (well 2 reps and 1 party).

Early and often!
Richard Taylor
Jack McDonald
Jock McConnell
Joke McFlannel

Wot'shisnameagain??? icon_wink.gif

Face it if his Labour colleagues down south can't remember his name, how can we have this man as our First Meenister???

SNP for me. icon_mrgreen.gif

I went to bed when the problems with the papers became apparant, and it seems to have got worse overnight with various counts, including those in Edinburgh, suspended.

Did anyone here have trouble with understanding how to vote? The only problem I had was finding the SNP on the ballot icon_redface.gif

I reckon we'll get another Holyrood election by the end of the summer, FWIW. icon_eek.gif
Richard Taylor
Fiasco.

Heads MUST roll.

A shambles of extraordinary proportions. Edinburgh count a disaster once again, with four of the six seats still to declare. Glasgow count looked more efficient, if a lot rowdier (tut, tut). Still undeclared results in Aberdeen and many other places across Scotland.

Looks like the Nats have had a good night. It remains to be seen whether it's enough. Still very much a case of watch this space.

Rowdier than getting burst up with a gowf bat? Crivvens! There was a right to do in the Kingdom as well according to a pal of my wife.

I'm not going to get sick of watching that wee girl from DRS explaining that things aren't that bad after all icon_razz.gif icon_razz.gif

That guy might just turn out to be the peoples' hero in this election. His direct action summing up how a lot of Scottish voters almost certainly feel, I would think icon_neutral.gif

And yes, the DRS lassie lacked more credibility than quite a lot of the candidates!
bill
WTF, the SNP have just won a seat in Edinburgh. And it's no other than former forum favourite Wor Kenny!
Callum Johnstone
Yes, indeed. A new platform for him to proclaim his maybes aye maybes no support for trams icon_smile.gif

Just two more constituency seats to declare in Scotland - both in Edinburgh: North & Leith and West. West should be a comfortable Lib Dem but the results have been so erratic that I wouldn't like to say what's going to happen in N & L.
bill
seems like the LD propaganda hasnae worked on us N&Lers, we've voted Chisholm back in.

Big swing, and a big surprise. First time I've ever voted for somebody who ended up getting in icon_eek.gif

I can't imagine to which 'propaganda' you are referring, however the issue of who is second in North & Leith seems to have been settled. Disappointing to have fallen short there and in Edinburgh Central, but good to see Mike Pringle increasing his majority in South.

The Edinburgh Council results look mighty interesting too. Lib Dems now the largest party (17 seats to Labour's 15) but NOC overall. It'll be interesting to see what 'deals' might emerge over the coming days, both at local and national level.

Now that is funny.

Just misleading numbers. I was pleased to see that the final leaflet from the candidate had a disclaimer in tiny type confirming the source of the figures that had been stuffing our letterboxes for the last few weeks.

I think NOC is a better result for the council than it is for the Parliament to be honest!

Tom Aitchison, Returning Officer, The City of Edinburgh Council said:

“There was an incident at Carrick Knowe Parish Church polling station at 8.25pm this evening. Police have reported that a 36 year old local man entered the polling station and damaged a number of ballot boxes with a golf club. The man was detained quickly by police and has been charged with a number of offences including breach of the peace and possession of an offensive weapon. Elections staff are working to assess the damage to voting papers and the potential impact on results in the Edinburgh West constituency.

being 36 probably debars him from joining the Pensioners Brigade

Doesn't that sound typically Edinburgh?
..... Golf club?

Anywhere else.... it would be a muckle chib or an ice pick.

At least something offensive. icon_biggrin.gif
