Feel the need for a RANT.

So thanks to the National Govt's INCOMPETENCE, PROVARICATION & DITHERING, the BP plans for a world-beating, cutting-edge plant at Peterhead for carbon capture is been ditched by the company, & all because the Govt keep putting back the timetable, now not planning to start a competition until NOV 2007 for tenders!!!!

As BP needed a decision asap in view of the impending end of the Miller oilfield, where the stuff was going to be stored under the N.Sea, they can wait no longer, & cannot justify keeping the platform open any longer before it is decommissioned. They & partners spent something like £50m, money poured down the drain in effect.

Result = LOST OPPORTUNITY

Be in NO doubt, I blame London Labour in Westminster for this, WHAT AN ABSOLUTE SCANDAL.

A great chance to gain the lead in new, cutting-edge, world-beating technology squandered thanks to this imcompetent Govt DITHERING.

It borders on the SUSPICIOUS - are Labour trying to "punish" Scotland for (justifiably) putting an end to their 50yr reign of complacancy.

I can only hope Alex/SNP can salvage this somehow, NO THANKS to Labour.

totally agree. only problem is get rid of labour and you get an equally right wing mob. enough of the hassling airlnes over their emissions the real polluters are for example power stations so instead of trying to fleece passengers out of as much as they think they can get away with in tax, they should be concentrating on trying to make a real difference!! rant over i'll now get off my soap box!!
