Best live gig you've ever been at?

Well being a big REM fan I'll give you my three top 'gigs,' 2 x REM and 1 x Status Quo...

1) REM - Walnut Creek Amphitheatre 27/8/1999, Raleigh North Carolina, a perfect clear summers evening overhead the Amphitheatre but miles away in the distance behind the stage was a massive electrical thunderstorm with the clouds being illuminated in different hues of orange/white/blue, fantastic icon_smile.gif

2) REM - Phillips Arena Atlanta Georgia, 11/10/2003, stayed in the Omni Hotel within the CNN Center, band were fantastic and just kept playing way beyond when they were meant to, absolutely fantastic band live.

3) Status Quo - Apollo Theatre Glasgow, circa 1979/80, loudest 'gig' I've ever been to, up on the balcony which was shaking so much I thought it was going to collapse, not a fan really but it was a sight to behold.

Hard one that.
For me it was Status Quo Apollo 1976 recording their live album.
Best of this year by a mile Saxon at the Garage in Glasgow, amazing gig, being touted by many of the rock followers as gig of the year (but Rush is still to come...............)

I've just seen REM once, when they were touring the Green album, which I think was in either 1988 or 89. Probably 89. Can't remember that much about it to be honest, I was probably off my tits on "champagne cider", god bless being a teenager.

Never see Der Quo, but I've seen the queue for one of their gigs and that was enough for me icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif

Ive only ever been to one concert, so I guess that qualifies as my best! That was to see faithless at Ingliston, back in 2002. Im not really much of a concert goer.

I'm not a 'Quo fan but I remember one of my schoolmates who couldn't get a ticket
for that '76 gig, so stood outside the door in Renfrew Street to listen instead. icon_twisted.gif

Other than crawling over broken glass to catch the sight and sound of of T.D. ( 'The Tangs' )
for the past +30 years where ever they play
(I've lost count how many times I've seen them, not enough fingers left)
The most remarkable 'conventional' music gig was going to see Judas Priest 22-Mar-1980
at the Apollo. Aye, who cares about them. icon_wink.gif

The support was the first sight on tour of a new group called 'Iron Maiden'.
It's not often you see the support blow away the main act!

i think i was at the 76 quo concert, head bashing stuff, why did they have to go commercial and spoil things? although i'm not a big alex harvey fan, i think i saw them around about 76 in edinburgh, and it was easily one of the best gigs i've been to
