A couple who were married above the Forth Bridges in a helicopter have told how air traffic control kept interrupting the ceremony.

Samantha and Colin Bews were married on Friday after meeting at Edinburgh Airport while plane spotting.

The 25-minute ceremony was conducted by West Calder Free Church minister, the Reverend Colin McAuley.

Mr Bews, 38, an IT analyst said he and his 32-year-old wife had wanted to make their wedding "a day to remember".

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Bews!

Aw, that's dead romantic, innit?

Sign of the times and sexual equality - in my young day there weren't any female 'planespotters!

Congratulations to the newly-weds.

I know Colin and Samantha so was on hand to take a few pics. It was surreal seeing so many well dressed people at the 06 threshold at EDI. Unfortunately the weather was so bad that none of the usual guys were around. It's also the first time I've had to pray when photographing aircraft as the minister decided to give a reading when they got back to terra firma. Not sure if it was giving thanks or just relief on his part.

Here's a few pics if you are interested.

1# Was it 'Colin' who chased your ass away from the grass landing area last year
when you got too close to their 'official' landing area for those stunning
chopper shots? Is that how you know him? icon_question.gif

2# I wasn't there unfortunately, so giving the impression of so many well
dressed people around there, I suppose.
