QUOTE
A major survey into the demand for a new direct air service linking Aberdeen and Poland has been launched, the BBC Scotland news website can reveal.

The online research has had about 1,000 responses in just a few days.

The Aberdeen Airport survey is available at www.szkocja24.com and also on the English version of the site www.polesinscotland.com.

I hope something becomes of this, I wouldnt mind another trip to Poland, especially if I can fly from ABZ. Centralwings twice weekly to Krakow or Warsaw would do nicely!

Problem is, people being surveyed can SAY they would like x number of flights to any number of destinations, but when it comes to USING them, saying & doing can - & are - very often two different things.

So 25,000 poles can say YES, we would like flights (& other people like yourself) but would they use them enough times to justify it?

And would the airlines be tempted to come to the 2nd most expensive airport to operate from in the BAA network, after LHR?

Hi All

A similar survey was conducted in the Highlands & Islands recently involving INV. I think they got about 2,000 odd replies, mostly from Poles in the area. This information was also going to be "passed to the relevant airlines." Agree a once or twice a week service would be good for either airports or both. Whether they could last year round would be another story. Aircraft size/capacity would also be a key issue, considering most of the locos both in the UK and in Poland operate Airbus A319/20 or Boeing 737 sizes. You never know, it could work.
