I dont think it will be too difficult. Check the bar for two old men with zimmer frames discussing aviation in Dublin and youve found Bill and Oracle...

Take a flight to PMI, hire a car and head down the coast to Paguera.

Locate the tall white building, near top right hand corner of above pic.
Look seven floors up and you'll find me and my lovely lady sitting on the balcony enjoying a beer and the sea views!
Sorry I can't make it this time, chaps.

Venue: Beehive, Grassmarket, Edinburgh
I should be able to manage a couple of hours there okay.
Not a frequent visitor of the Grassmarket area, is this a Trendy or a spitoon/tosspot/sawdust-on-the-floor pub?

I think its a traditional style pub rather than a trendy bar. Bill chose the venue, although i think I may have visited it in the past...

A bit of a problem lads, just found out that I have to go to a funeral in Cork on Friday.
Sods law, I get a night off from trundling round airports for a few jars and my aunt goes and dies on me. You will just have to have a few pints for me and I will catch up with you all at another time.
As per the Beehive, last time I was there it hadn't got trendy yet so fingers crossed. Apologies all, I was looking forward to meeting you.
O.
bill
May 25 2004, 09:55 AM
sorry to hear that O. Best wishes.

would have been nice to put a face to the name, but there will be other chances. Best wishes.

Not to worry, Bill can describe my astounding handsomeness!
I am sure this will be the first of many social gatherings of the alchoholic variety even if sods law means I can't go to the one I instigated!

May 25 2004, 07:32 PM
Oh, guys it may just be a bittie busy in the pub on Friday night... So what you'll look like?
bill
May 26 2004, 11:44 AM
I need a haricut and will be wearing a brown suede jacket and jeans. That probably describes 50% of the Beehive clientele.... I'll be drinking a pint of guinness that nighthawk will have bought me.
Should we all wear baggage tags or something?
Gerry
May 27 2004, 12:59 PM
Not wanting to be a pooper, It's 50/50 if I will turn up.
I'll be way-out-west (Glasgow) earlier in the day and I might be delayed
getting back. It depends on what happens out there.

Be sure to show us the photos Ally, although I have a feeling your camera may suddenly encounter a low battery just as they all land, only to fix itself just after they take off...
For those that have not already left for the beehive, I shall be the tall dark hansome guy at the bar with Jack Daniels in hand. Im wearing a white t-shirt, with black stripe down the arms, and jeans.
See you all there, and for those that cannot attend, we will have a drink for you (65 members, 6(?) attending... very drunk night!

Apparently Lothian Road ATC spotted a couple of UFOs pursuing an unsteady course in the wee hours.

I wouldn't know anything about this of course, having been tucked up in bed early doors.

Rev was having a foam party, so both me and wangi were walking round looking like snowmen. Still managed to meet a few ladies though

It was so short you would struggle to call it a holiday ... more a long weekend, although I have to say it didn't feel rushed, which was nice!
Weather was perfect, and bmi flights (there and back) were fine. Come on Flyglobespan, gives us a daily PMI service from Edinburgh and I'll make the switch!!
Better than a night out with you lads at the Beehive ...? Of course, I would have to say "yes", or my girlfriend will give me a slap.
Perhaps the next Taxiwayalpha meet should be at the flat in Mallorca, provided those who lose the toss for the spare bed don't mind kipping on the floor!
Just don't tell my Dad!

Further to my post about the Flyertalk "Meet" in Edinburgh on the 12th of June.
We will be meeting up at the Worlds End Bar at 9.30pm for any Taxiway Alpha members who want to come along. There should be about a dozen of us so just listen out for the Airline chat!!
Again hope you can come along.

I'd love to make it but will be in Dublin at the beginning of the Bloomsday feshtival. The Worlds End seems to suggest some kind of (very) local bias has been used...
